April, 2006, WAWG Index – Up 2.3%

In this seventh survey of the web, the WAWG index group average was up by 2.3 percent from March, 2006. Of the fourteen items tracked, 8 were down, 6 were up, and 0 were unchanged. The cumulative change for the index is up 52 percent.

As for individual trends, “election fraud” and “protected corporate power” continue their upward trend averaging another 12 percent increase. The continuous downtrend for “scapegoats as a unifying cause” and “media control” dropped another 3.6 percent. However, “obsession with national security” broke its downward trend by jumping 34 percent. With all the fuss over the Dubai Ports World deal starting in late February, this up tick for national security may be due to some delay in accumulating the information in the search database.
